NORM / TENORM RSO

The NORM /TENORM RSO course is a comprehensive and in-depth examination of radiation fundamentals, including radiation theory, sources of radiation, detector theory, dose limits and models, emergency response, and workers’ rights. The instructor reviews distinct types of NORM and TENORM, where and why they are located in a given scenario or process., Also includes an in-depth conversation regarding safe and effective mitigation procedures, state regulations, reporting requirements, radiation survey techniques, and an overview of DOT requirements.

Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments; the instructor can provide them if necessary.

Having attended this course and passing a final exam, the student will receive a certificate indicating that the participant successfully completed a comprehensive course study for Radiation Safety Officer.

Students are encouraged to take a refresher course no less frequently than every 3 years.
