Installation/reinstallation/removal
Installing a new or replacement radiometric system typically requires licensed service providers to ensure that the regulatory controls and requirements for these gauges are properly incorporated. Our team of experts has installed most types of devices and works directly with the manufacturers to ensure the proper and safe mounting of these systems.
While many of these installations are planned, sometimes emergencies or unplanned operations can affect the scheduled installation. Our team is flexible and is able to respond quickly to these planned, or quick turnaround requirements.
Leak Testing
As a requirement of most radiometric systems, a leak test is required to be performed at license or manufacturer specified period. This can be a complicated management for RSO’s who wear many different hats. The task of ensuring a provider is scheduled and on time to ensure leak tests are completed can often be easily forgotten. Our team tracks our clients inventories and service cycles to ensure the Qal-Tek team is properly scheduled to complete the leak tests on time and in compliance with the clients license obligations.
As part of our onsite leak test, our technicians perform a complete onsite assessment of the gauges to ensure they are operating smoothly and that all shutters, mountings, labelings and exposure controls are adequate.
Leak Test Kits
For our clients who are licensed to perform/collect their own leak tests, we offer a mail in service. Unlike our competitors, we provide free kits and only charge upon the processing. Most providers make you pay for a leak test kit up front, only to charge you again if that kit is lost or damaged. At Qal-Tek, our team sends you leak test kits, free of charge, 30 days prior to the due date AND follows up to make that they are completed and processed inside of the required time.
Shutter Checks
As a requirement of most radiometric license requirements, mandatory shutter checks are required to ensure that the shutters are operational and properly evaluated for potential failure. The Qal-Tek team is one of the most experienced in the industry with intimate knowledge of most devices and types of shutter failures. Our team is able to perform shutter checks, in sync with leak test and maintenance services to ensure that your regulatory requirements are met, while using our teams experience and expertise to identify any potential future failure potentials and perform necessary maintenance or repair to ensure your operations are affected by a stuck or broken shutter. LIke all of our services, our Customer Service and logistics team will track each client’s device requirements to ensure that they are performed when required each and every time.
Shutter Repair/Maintenance
A stuck or broken shutter can be a significant liability and a real hinderance to operations. Our team is proficient in almost all makes and models and is able to repair most shutters quickly onsite. While most issues can be avoided with proper care and maintenance, many devices are mounted in extremely costic and corrosive enviroments. Source Reloading
Many systems are designed to allow for reloading of newer sources to increase/optimize accuracy of the system. This requires expertise in the right source capsule and device regulations to allow for proper and safe reloading. Our team maintains a long list of sources in our inventory as part of our source re-utilization program and can work directly with source manufacturers to find the right source to fit your applications.
Our team can even schedule these source replacements years in advance to ensure smooth transition and planning for these devices and avoid significantly expensive system upgrades.
