Introduction to radiation fundamentals, including radiation theory, sources of radiation, detector theory, dose limits, ALARA, emergency response, workers’ rights, maintenance, gauge and source construction, program regulations, and reporting requirements. An Overview of DOT requirements.

Having successfully completed this course, the participant will receive a certificate indicating that they completed a certified course study for Radiation Safety Officer Training.Students are required to take a DOT course for ground shipping every 3 years.
